Dedicated dark cinemas
A strong fit for controlled rooms with dark finishes, where the D-ILA black floor and low-level image behaviour can be appreciated.
DLA-NZ500 is the entry point into JVC’s current native-4K laser D-ILA family: a compact dedicated-cinema projector built around genuine 4096 × 2160 panels, strong native contrast and Frame Adapt HDR.
Premium dedicated cinema
NZ500 is particularly interesting for a genuinely dark dedicated room where black level, shadow detail and film presentation matter more than chasing the largest lumen number.
Its 2,000-lumen output and 1.6× lens mean the screen, gain and throw need to be designed sensibly. That makes it an excellent counterpoint to brighter alternatives such as Epson’s QB1000: the right answer depends on the room and image target.

2,000 lumens can produce an excellent image when screen width, gain and HDR target are appropriate, but the light budget should be calculated rather than assumed.
A natural option for viewers who value native 4K imaging, contrast and JVC’s Frame Adapt HDR approach over maximum light output.
NZ500 uses an 80 mm, 15-element / 11-group fully motorised lens with 1.6× zoom, approximately 1.34–2.14:1 throw ratio, ±70% vertical and ±28% horizontal shift.
Specifications are based on manufacturer-published information available at launch preparation. Options can vary by firmware, lens, configuration and region. Always verify final project data before ordering.
